Snap Pattern · Legal

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Snap Pattern does with your information, and in particular with the photographs you take. It is a supplement to the Ezysphere Privacy Policy, which applies to all of our products and which you should read alongside it. Where the two genuinely conflict, this supplement prevails for Snap Pattern only. It never gives you fewer rights than the main policy does.

The part that matters

Your photographs are never stored. They are uploaded directly to our own measurement engine over an encrypted connection, held in memory only for as long as the calculation takes, and discarded the moment the numbers are returned. They are never written to a disk or a storage bucket, never given a URL, never handed to a third-party image host, never reviewed by a person, and never used to train any model. Only the resulting measurements are kept.

1. Who may use Snap Pattern

Snap Pattern is for adults aged 18 or over. You may photograph only yourself. Photographing another person - including a child, including your own child, and including with their agreement - is prohibited by the Snap Pattern Terms. This restriction exists because a photograph of a body is personal in a way a floor plan is not, and because consent given on someone else's behalf cannot be verified by us.

We do not knowingly process information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the app, email apps@ezysphere.com and we will delete the associated data and close the account.

2. Your photographs

Snap Pattern needs two photographs of you - one front-on and one side-on - because a front photograph gives width but not depth, and a body circumference needs both.

2.1 What happens to a photograph, step by step

  1. You take or select the photographs. The app receives only the two images you choose - it does not read, index or scan the rest of your photo library.
  2. The app downscales each image on your device and re-encodes it, then uploads both directly to the Snap Pattern measurement engine over an encrypted (TLS) connection.
  3. The engine holds the image bytes in memory only. It finds your pose landmarks and body outline, reads the reference object you are holding to convert pixels to millimetres, and computes your measurements.
  4. The engine returns the numbers and overwrites the image buffers. Nothing is written to disk, to a database, to a cache or to object storage at any point.
  5. Only the resulting measurements are saved to your account.

2.2 What we deliberately do not do

2.3 Copies you keep yourself

If your device's camera saves a photograph to your own gallery, that copy is yours and stays on your device. We have no access to it and cannot delete it for you.

3. Not a biometric identification app

Snap Pattern does not identify anyone. It does not perform facial recognition or facial analysis, does not match you against any database, and does not create, store, derive from or share a "biometric identifier", "biometric information", "face template", "faceprint", "voiceprint", or "scan of hand or face geometry" as those terms are used in laws including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, and the Washington Biometric Privacy Act.

The engine locates anatomical points - shoulder, hip, knee, ankle - in order to know where on the image to measure, and it separates your silhouette from the background in order to know how wide you are at that point. Both exist inside a single request, both are discarded with the image, and neither is retained, indexed or capable of recognising you. What is retained is a list of lengths and circumferences in millimetres.

We also do not treat your measurements as data "for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person" under Article 9 of the GDPR, because they are not used, and cannot practically be used, to identify you. They are used to draft a garment.

4. Not health data

Body measurements are collected for one purpose: drafting a garment that fits. We do not use, infer, analyse, sell or share your measurements to determine, indicate or infer any health status, condition, diagnosis, treatment, body composition, weight-related characteristic or any other health attribute, and we do not share them with any insurer, employer, health provider, advertiser or data broker.

Snap Pattern is not a medical device, does not provide medical, nutritional or fitness advice, and its output must not be relied on for any health-related purpose. We do not sell or share consumer health data as that term is used in the Washington My Health My Data Act or comparable state legislation.

5. What we collect and keep

WhatKept?Detail
Front and side photographsNoProcessed in memory, discarded on return of the result
Measurements (lengths and circumferences, in millimetres)YesSaved against your session so you can reuse them and draft patterns. Values you have not unlocked are held server-side and are not sent to the app.
Confidence level and methodYesWhether depth was measured or estimated, and any warning raised
Your stated height and sex, if you provide themYesHeight is an independent cross-check on calibration; sex selects the drafting block. Both are optional and you may leave them unspecified.
Reference object choice and dimensionsYesWhich object you calibrated against and its size
Drafted patternsYesThe garment, options and page size chosen, so you can re-export
AccountYes, if you have oneSnap Pattern works without you creating an account. By default it uses an anonymous session - a random identifier with no email address and no name attached. If you later choose to sign in, your data carries over.
Points balance and ledgerYesEvery credit and spend is recorded so balances can be reconciled and disputes answered
Payment recordsYesProvider, reference, amount, currency, status. Never your card number or bank credentials - those are entered with, and held by, the payment provider.
Country and currencyYesDetermines whether you are billed in naira or dollars
Server logsShort-termIP address, timestamp and endpoint, generated by our hosting provider for security and rate limiting

6. What stays on your device

The app keeps a small local store on your device for your settings, a cache of your recent results, and any pattern PDF you export. That data is on your own device, is not readable by us, and is removed when you uninstall the app.

7. Why we use it

We do not use any of it for advertising, profiling or marketing.

8. Legal bases

ProcessingBasis
Processing your photographs to produce measurementsYour explicit consent, given when you choose to take and submit the photographs, and withdrawable at any time by not submitting further photographs. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
Storing measurements, drafting patterns, operating points and taking paymentPerformance of a contract with you
Rate limiting, fraud and abuse prevention, diagnosticsLegitimate interests in running a secure and working service
Retaining transaction recordsLegal obligation (tax and accounting)

9. Who we share it with

ProviderWhat it handlesSees your photograph?
RenderHosts the measurement engine that processes the imageThe image passes through the container in memory during the request and is discarded. It is never persisted by us or by Render.
SupabaseAnonymous and signed-in sessions, and the database holding measurements, patterns, points and payment recordsNo
PaystackNaira paymentsNo
FlutterwaveDollar paymentsNo
App storesDistribution and, where applicable, store purchasesNo

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it for anyone else's marketing. The full list of Ezysphere providers, our international transfer safeguards and the rest of the detail are in the Ezysphere Privacy Policy.

10. How long we keep it

DataRetention
PhotographsNot retained. Discarded within the lifetime of a single request, typically seconds.
Measurements and patternsUntil you delete them, or until your session or account is deleted
Points ledgerFor the life of the account, then deleted with it
Payment recordsUp to 7 years, for tax and accounting, then deleted
Server logsTypically 30 to 90 days

11. Security

As set out in the Ezysphere Privacy Policy, no system is perfectly secure and we do not claim otherwise.

12. Your rights and deletion

You have the full set of rights described in the Ezysphere Privacy Policy - access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection and withdrawal of consent - and we honour them wherever you live.

You can delete individual measurements and patterns inside the app at any time. To delete everything, use the Snap Pattern deletion page or email apps@ezysphere.com. We action verified requests within 30 days.

Because Snap Pattern can run on an anonymous session, an account may have no email address attached to it. If that is your situation, tell us in the deletion form and we will explain the identifier the app can show you so that we can find and delete the right record - we will not guess.

13. No advertising, no analytics SDK

Snap Pattern carries no advertising. It contains no advertising SDK, no advertising identifier is read, and there is no third-party analytics or attribution SDK in the app. Nothing about your body, your measurements or your use of the app is shared with an advertiser, an ad network or a data broker - and there is no mechanism in the app by which it could be.

14. Changes

If we change this supplement we will update the version and date above. For material changes - a new category of data, a new purpose, a new recipient, or anything that reduces your rights - we will give reasonable advance notice in the app before the change takes effect, and where the law requires consent we will ask for it. We will not begin retaining photographs without asking you first.
